Welcome to the behind-the-scenes of the epic saga of the birth of our civic monitoring project with "At School with OpenCoesione”!
Imagine a class full of young Sherlock Holmes eager to make a difference in their community. We are the students of classes 2b and 3b of the "G. De Gruttola" Ipseoa in Ariano Irpino, ready to combine our student superpowers to make the world more sustainable!
It all started with a simple question: "How can we make a difference?". Eager to get involved, we wanted a project that went beyond textbooks, something that directly engaged us in change.
We discovered the "A scuola di OpenCoesione" project, and the light bulb above our heads lit up! "Open" for everyone, "Coesione" to work together for a better world. An initiative aimed at involving civil society in monitoring public funds and promoting transparency. Perfect, right?
Combine our student enthusiasm and the goal of making our world greener and more sustainable!
The meetings were explosions of ideas, like fireworks of creativity.
With our powerful magnifying glass, we combed through the site https://opencoesione.gov.it/it/dati/progetti and stumbled upon a truly amazing project: Oscar (Occhiale da SigARetta).
A project born from the partnership between Essequadro Srl (a young company in our area) and the Regional Information Communication Technology Center SCaRL (CERICT), funded by ERDF funds (https://opencoesione.gov.it/it/dati/progetti/9ca18016bp000000032/) for a total of € 409,266.90.
Our project will not only be civic monitoring but an engaging, fun, and even a bit quirky adventure!
Oscar is not just recycling; cigarette butts transform from hazardous waste to ecological treasures with technology so advanced it seems to come from a green science fiction movie!
Imagine cigarette butts becoming bricks for smoking eco-friendly houses! A home built with the power of recycling, the dream of every ecology lover. But wait, there's more! The butts also become yarns for fashionable clothing. Wearing clothes made from toxic waste? Absolutely cool!
But Oscar's magic doesn't end there. It even extracts energy from exhausted cigarettes to power batteries! Batteries powered by the vice of smoking? Only Oscar can do that. A clever way to recycle and illuminate our green future!
An innovative and eco-friendly project capable of transforming a common, often overlooked, waste into useful and sustainable material. In line with the goals of Agenda 2030 and with impeccable scientific solidity, thanks to the involvement of CNR and CERICT.
Not to mention the choice of the name...
One day, grappling with ideas for the team name, we thought, 'Why not pay homage to our superpower of combating microplastics with style?' And so, the name 'Smoking Glasses' was born! A mix of our environmental commitment and that cool touch that only a pair of smoking glasses can provide. Imagine wearing glasses so trendy that even microplastics surrender to your eco-friendly style!
Our logo? It was a collective masterpiece! Picture our room full of laughter and ink splatters as we design the smoking glasses with a cigarette. A smoking glasses lens, a kind of green sentinel watching over the territory like an ecology superhero, ready to drive away microplastics and protect our beloved planet.
And so, with eyes shining with enthusiasm and positive energy, our project took flight, guided by the belief that, together, we can truly make a difference!
How is our team composed?
Our leader is Captain Ecology, a true environmental guru. He wears sunglasses with frames made of cigarette butts and has the power to turn every environmental issue into a stylish solution.
Then there's Miss Recycle, our transformation expert. She knows exactly how to take a sad cigarette butt and turn it into something fantastic. Her motto: 'Nothing is thrown away, everything transforms!'
Our technological brain is Professor Green Tech, the genius behind the magic that turns cigarette butts into battery components and materials for eco-friendly construction. With his ultra-tech glasses, he's always a step ahead in ecological innovation.
Finally, there's the Green Fashion Agent who takes care of the glamorous side of our project. With timeless style and limited-edition cigarette butt glasses, she's our green influencer inspiring others to embrace ecology with style.Hey, ecological adventurers! Join our team of open-cohesion super detectives: armed with notes, cameras, and a touch of curiosity, we will transform into green heroes!
